In yesterday’s episode we discussed the two creations, mental and then physical. Leadership is the first creation, management is the second creation. Great management without proper leadership will not lead to long term success. Management is a bottom-line focus, leadership is a top-line focus. Management is making sure you are getting things done right. Leadership is making sure you are doing the right things.
Our effectiveness does not solely depend on how hard we are working or how busy we are. We can be busier than we have ever been in our entire lives, and working hard 12-16 hours a day. If we are not working on the right things that it won’t truly lead us anywhere. Especially in business where the market is constantly changing in regards to the needs of your clients, technology available, etc. If proper leadership is not in place to be guiding the company and making sure that management is working on the right things, then failure is right around the corner.
